Combined heat and power (CHP), also called cogeneration,

is an efficient approach to generating electric power and useful thermal energy for heating or cooling from a single fuel source. Instead of purchasing electricity from the grid and producing heat in an on-site furnace or boiler, aCombined heat and power (CHP) generator provides both energy services in one energy-efficient step.

Industries that have a large need of thermal (usually for hot water or steam) and electricity are perfect candidates for Combined heat and power (CHP).

Trigeneration / CCHP

Combined heat and power (CHP) taken one step farther is CCHP. Trigeneration (CCHP) or combined cooling, heat and power, is the process by which some of the heat produced by Cogeneration (CHP) is used to generate chilled water for air conditioning or refrigeration. An absorption chiller is linked to theCombined heat and power (CHP) unit to provide this functionality.

In conventional power generation, a large percent of the energy input is wasted in the form of heat during output. In a combined heat and power (CHP) system, the waste heat is recovered and used which provides much higher efficiencies. On-site combined heat and power (CHP) systems now make use of 80% to 90% of energy value in the fuel…a 35% to 45% improvement over purchased power and natural gas for local boilers. As of 2013 around 12 percent of the total electricity generated in the United States came from combined heat and power (CHP).

What is the typical payoff time?

Most 20kW to 1mW combined heat and power (CHP) systems pay for themselves in 2-5 years. With new government incentives combined heat and power (CHP) is quickly becoming the main source of heat and power in Industrial and Commercial facilities looking to replace boilers

Combined heat and power (CHP) as aBoiler Replacement Opportunity

Combined heat and power (CHP) is a proven technology that is quickly becoming a replacement for boilers. Combined heat and power (CHP) is used in every state and as of 2013 over 4,100 facilities including factories, commercial buildings, hospitals, and universities were using combined heat and power (CHP) systems. Often times your gas bill stays the same but you produce more hot water and cut your electric bill by 50%-100%

Typography is the art and technique

Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable and appealing when displayed. The arrangement of type involves selecting typefaces, point size, line length, line-spacing (leading), letter-spacing (tracking), and adjusting the space within letters pairs (kerning).
